"There is barely any commitment, all you have to do is show up. You don't even need to show up regularly to the club but that does make it more fun" - George (Oscar)
Important information regarding Video Game Club:
Video game club is a very unstructured club, we do set up a game or two on a console to play each week but there is nothing stopping you from playing games on your laptop or on a handheld console separate from what we have set up. As a rule all games played at the club whether as a group run by the club, by a group of friends or by someone on their own MUST be school appropriate, anything that is questionable has to be vetted by the school first before anyone can play it.
In general:
Games with a T or E rating are unilaterally allowed.
M rated games generally need to be reviewed first. (Games that are rated M because of violence are usually ok. (Battlefront, Starcraft, Halo, Call of Duty, and the like are allowed.) Although please inform us beforehand if you intend on bringing a game like that so we can check just in case.
The line is drawn at stuff with blatantly adult and school-inappropriate themes.
Games like GTA, Fallout and Bioshock are strictly forbidden at the club.
Masks are optional if you feel uncomfortable about people not wearing masks or feel worried you might be alone in wearing a mask you can reach out to the student emails below and we can figure something out!
If there is concern about controllers not working well and other accessibility related concerns please also reach out to Gavin or Oscar we can figure something out for you! You may also want to contact us to check on what we are playing for the week so you bring the correct controller. We currently have played games on the Wii U, Nintendo switch and Xbox 360.
