The parallel system is a part to our history. It is a testament of the bravery and determination of the Albanian people. We chose to focus on the Hertica home-school story, and we hope that we give you a glimpse of history. In this video, you will see Azemine the daughter of Mehmet Hertica. You will hear in her words the struggles that they went through to make sure that students could continue their education.
Azemine Aliu-Hertica is the daughter of the owner of the Hertica house-school.In this interview, we get to see the history from her point of view. We get to learn - What inspired the decision to start this school? For how many years did this school operate? Was there any obstacle? Azemine also shares with us some of her favorite and least favorite moments and at the end of the interview she shares an important message to the youth and a call to the government.
Hertica Ex-Students Interviews
Reminiscing about their time at the home-school Hertica the students recalled the way they felt and the way they dealt with the situation at the time. The emotions they had during that time are seen in their faces while they talk about it. We will get to know about their happy and sad/scary moments if they would change anything if they could go back, and most importantly get bits of advices from them.
Hertica's ex- professors interviews
In these videos professors from the school “Sami Frasheri” gave us more insight into the terrible conditions they worked in during the Serbian regime in the school-house “Hertica” and told their stories about the parallel system of the 90s in Kosovo. They talked more about the organization of the classes, the violence used by the police, and mostly the motivation of students to continue learning.
