1. What is Hertica?

Hertica is one of the locations in Prishtina that served as a home-school during the conflict between Kosovo and Serbia in the 90s. Students from all around the region continued their classes there because the schools didn’t allow Kosovar students to enter their buildings. 

 2. Where is Hertica located?

Hertica is located on the outskirts of Prishtina, right outside of the Tophane neighborhood. You can use Prishtina’s public transportation to get there. 

3. Can I visit Hertica?

Yes, you can visit Hertica. The daughter of the owner of the house opens the house to visitors from all over and guides them by telling different stories about the house. 

4. Why should I visit Hertica? 

Hertica describes the poor educational conditions that Kosovar students had to go through in the 90s. It’s a place that stands as a synonym for will, strength, perseverance, and fear. Through this house, you can see and feel the emotional roller coaster that the students felt at the time. It’s truly magnificent how such a small place served such a great purpose in the history of Kosovo’s educational development.
