2D sketching
This is some 2D sketch of my design ideas. I used blue pen to sketch.
Outlining progress
I used two types of black fine line pen - 0.3 mm and 0.8 mm
Coloring- 'All edges are always dark'
This is my progress of coloring my design with marker pens. I made all the edges darker to make it more realistic.
Because I was confused about what color I used, I made chart about the name of the colors so that I would be able to know what colors to use.
Rendering wood grain
I added wood grain at the timber part of my holder. I used darker colored pencil to line and blend into the timber part of my holder.
Shadows and Highlights
To make it more 3D-looking, with white and black pencil I colored the shadowed and highlighted area. I also used different colors of color pencils to create shadow on my holder.

Digital Design - Procreate
Blue pencil sketching
I did blue pencil sketching on procreate using Rough Spencil 2.
Blue pencil sketching --> Black fine lining
After finishing my blue pencil sketching, I fine lined with 'technical pen'.
This is me working on procreate
Rendering with the masktool
For all the resin and wood layers, I will be using a tool called 'masktool' on procreate to do rendering with dowloaded photos. It is a lot more easier to do than on the paper.
After rendering all the layers, I then added shadows to make it 3D - looking. I used 'soft dirty air' brush and some colors that match to the layers.
If there is shadow, there should be highlight as well. Using 'soft clean air' brush and white color, I created little lines to finish my design up.
