Skin Tone

This is my skintone work to learn about different skintone and get idea about how to paint my protrait using these. I made these by mixing different colors but one thing that i could improve more is making the last 3 colors more differently. In the photo the last 3 colors look very similar. But I am satisfied with most of my work in this page.

Artist Research

In my artist research page, I added several information about the artist I will get inspiration from. Alexandra Dillon is a surrealistic painter who paints on the found objects, like brush. Her artworks are inspirational for our project this term. I added her artworks and few paragraph about her. I'm quite happy about this page.

Face proportion / first attempt of drawing nose

This is my proportion and nose page. The face drawing is drawn with the face proportions guide line. I learned how to place the part of the face successfully. Nose is big part of a face. By practicing drawing/shadinig nose, it will be eaiser for me to paint the nose. I drew both of them using 2B and HB pencil and blending stick. One thing I could improve in this drawings is that I could've shade it more evenly.

Second attempt of drawing/shading nose

Now here is my second attempt of drawing nose. Because I didn't like the way I shaded and sketched the nose, I tried another drawing to improve my skills. I improved my skills on shading using cross-hatching skill. It has better quality than the first attempt but I would add the very dark shade to the drawing to realy make the contrast of the darkness.

The midmap of the two artist I will paint - Rosa Bonheur and Edmonia Lewis - will help me to understand them and paint it more realistic. After researching of the two artists, I added information about them such as what they paint, their background story.
