What is GA?
What is GA?
GA, also known as the General Academics Strand, is a community that transcends what one’s identity is. It is a strand that allows the students to feel as one despite having different backgrounds, skills, and talents. The strand consists of fully diverse sets of individuals that range from student leaders, athletes, future talents, artists, and many more! GA, as a community, encapsulates the idea of being what a jack of all trades is. GA is more than just a strand, it is a family, a revelation, and a journey of self discovery in our Senior High School life.

GA’s vision revolves around our main theme of LIYAB, a Filipino word which means “to burn bright with a flame.” We’ll strive to have a stronger council, one that is driven, efficient, inclusive, genuine and makes service their number one priority. Create a strand identity that burns brighter, just like the color red used to represent GA, with our strand being as diverse as it is while still maintaining unity. We’ll also aim to help GA unleash our potential and establish a mindset of “Quality over Quantity”; be the spark that ignites the fire of passion, service and the 5C’s in our GA family.

The GA strand aims to nurture each student’s unique capabilities by giving them avenues to explore what career path they want to pursue in life and offer opportunities to develop their skills. Furthermore, the GA Council, through its class officers, shall serve as the active representatives of the student body who will champion the students’ rights and well-being as the bridge between the students and the ACO.

GA Strand is a melting pot of diverse, talented, and passionate individuals. They are determined to forge their own individual identity and legacy. In their stay in the Ateneo de Manila Senior High School, students are encouraged to stay true to who they are as they develop and nurture their unique abilities. They are welcome to be themselves and express their own identity. The GA Strand is a place where students cultivate their own culture, abilities, and personality.

Flexibility
GA strand takes pride in its eagerness and adaptability to new people, situations, and circumstances. Students are given a place to explore and learn new interests and opportunities. It is a place to encourage flexibility and open-mindedness towards unknown and new cultures and communities.

The students of the GA Strand safeguard the different backgrounds, cultures, and interests of its students. The strand aims to have a community of diverse cultures and backgrounds. The strand is a place of inclusivity and a place of expression and free-will.

The strand prides itself on being a hub of many flourishing individuals who innately possess unique skill sets. The strand sets its hearts on empowering its students to remain proud and unified amongst differences.
