The Accountancy, Business, and Management Strand, otherwise known as ABM, houses students destined to impact the realm of business and finance. It is a tight-knit community of people eager to make a difference and help each other improve. After being equipped with the necessary leadership skills to succeed, ABM students have a wide network of like minded students by their side, ready to face the world. The ABM Core Council, composed of the ABM Chairperson, ABM Vice Chairperson, ABM Secretary, and ABM Undersecretary then work together to create a space conducive to teamwork, connections, and communication for the whole strand. These may be in the form of projects, initiatives, and events.
The ABM Council strives to create beautiful spaces and platforms that push students to become better versions of themselves through meaningful experiences and enjoyable interactions. They aim to make the strand an avenue of learning and growth for students to reach their full potential. This is ensured by the integration of excellence, service, and integrity expected of ABM students into the opportunities made available to them.
The ABM Council is composed of passionate servant-leaders who make student life a provenance of personal growth. These individuals aspire to be “a wellspring of Magis,” and view excellence as a way to bring forth their values and principles in the Ateneo Senior High School and the community they are trained to serve a bigger role in. Through the tightly woven strand that they ought to establish, both the whole and individuals bring each other up towards a better place.
Core Values
ABM sees excellence as not merely just performing well for a task at hand. Excellence is a reflection of one’s journey towards doing well and overcoming every challenge that comes in one’s way. As such, we expect ABM students to exemplify excellence in their two years stay with us in the hopes that wherever they may go, they could represent ABM with pride. In doing so, we expect ABM students to leave an impact on themselves and the community as they practice excellence.
ABM recognizes the entire journey of each student, including the difficulties and struggles that come with it. We encourage each student to remain steadfast in their goals as this is important in any type of growth they will go through in their journey in Senior High School. ABM expects its students to exemplify this value in accordance with the school’s belief in Cura Personalis and Magis. When practiced, we believe that an individual hones one’s ability to do good for one’s self and others. Therefore, realizing the ripple effect that ABM sees its students have.
As ABM students carry on with their respective career paths, we know that each individual will achieve greatness in their own ways. Although, it is expected that they must reach their goals with rectitude and integrity, not only in the workplace or the classroom but also in their everyday lives. Past the achievements and accomplishments, one must always exemplify rectitude when dealing with each situation, even and especially when no one is present to see it. ABM values excellence, but not at the loss of one’s honor. Above all, we want our students to truly care about the effect that their actions bring forth not only to others but also to one’s self.
ABM believes that practicing the value of respect gives out a ripple effect. This has different levels - respect for yourself, to others, and to the community. We recognize that everyone comes from different walks of life, that we are composed of a community with diverse people. With that being said, we embrace and celebrate these differences. We see that many traits can be derived from respect to one’s self, institution, others, and more such as obedience, integrity, and hard work. Hence respect is a value we expect ABM to exemplify.
ABM strives to be the home that its students can always find a place in. Each individual comprising this strand is unique, but we must look past our differences to create deeper connections with each other. We believe in the importance of fostering bonds with one another to create an even bigger impact as a whole. We believe that looking at the bigger picture for our end goal further assists in helping ourselves, the individuals around us, and the community to rise together. Hence, it is key to always recognize what and where we belong to.
