Brooklyn South Language Access Advisory Board

COMMUNITY RESOURCES

Founded in 2017, Brooklyn South’s Language Access Advisory Board is committed to enhancing language access practices to promote greater school community engagement and home/school communications through the sharing of resources, the leveraging of best practices, and the implementation of new & innovative initiatives among schools.

Led by Brooklyn South NYCDOE Borough Office, the Advisory Board is comprised of 26 member schools from District 17, District 18, District 20, District 21, and District 22. Members meet regularly to discuss their successes and the challenges they encounter working with their school's LEP community, to identify barriers, and to propose new ideas. The Advisory Board's collaborative work is available for all Brooklyn South schools to draw from as they seek to create a more welcoming environment for their Limited English Proficient families.
