I was born and raised in the Morgantown area and currently reside in the South Park neighborhood. Most of my youth was spent in Westover. 

My teaching experience is as follows:

1986-88 South Junior High School (US History and World Regional Geography)

1988-2009 University High School (Contemporary US History, Economics, AP US Government and AP Human Geography)

2009-2019 Morgantown High School (AP US Government and AP Human Geography)

2019-2022 College Board: Director of AP Human Geography Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment.

2000-Present Teacher Consultant for the National Geographic Society

2017-Present Teacher Fellow for the American Geographical Society

I am married to Becky Berry who teaches social studies at Morgantown High School. I have two sons, Daniel (wife Jenna), granddaughter Alice, and Sean.  We also have a cat named Franklin.
