Current Unit Overview: Our 6th graders are beginning their unit on Biodiversity and Biomes! In this unit, students will explore the incredible variety of life on Earth and the unique ecosystems that support it. Through vocabulary study, guided notes, and short-answer activities, they’ll learn how climate, geography, and living organisms interact within each biome. Students will also watch videos showcasing the world’s diverse biomes—from deserts to rainforests to tundras. The unit will conclude with a research project, where each student will select a biome to study and present their findings to the class.
