Mrs. Dye leads an extra-curricular writing club for middle schoolers, inspired by none other than St. Francis de Sales, the patron saint of writers and journalists! Known for his gentle and compassionate approach to evangelization, he was sometimes referred to as "The Gentle Saint." In his honor, our school's writing club is known formally as "The Gentle Saint's Rising Writers" and commonly as "Rising Writers."
All 6th-8th grade students who want to enhance and improve their writing skills, have an interest in creative writing, storytelling, or expressing themselves through the written word are welcome at "Rising Writers"! The club aims to provide a supportive and encouraging environment for students to develop their writing skills, explore different genres, and share their work with peers. Through a series of engaging activities and workshops, students have the opportunity to hone their writing abilities, learn from one another, and celebrate the legacy of Francis de Sales, the patron saint of writers.
