Welcome to Middle School Elective: Forensics!
I am excited to introduce this new science elective to SFCCS. It is my hope that students will gain a greater appreciation and understanding of the many science careers and law enforcement careers that are involved with the Forensic processing and analysis of crime scenes.
During this elective, students will learn basic crime scene processing techniques such as, crime scene management, fingerprints, sketching, photography, trace evidence, tool markings, DNA and presumptive blood testing, blood spatter analysis, impressions and evidence preservation. Students will also gain experience processing a mock crime scene and learn how do document and memorialize the crime scene through photography, sketching, and detailed paperwork.
For the Forensics Elective, students will be participating in classroom practical exercises. No homework will be assigned for this elective. Students will be graded based upon participation in classroom practical exercises and team oriented exercises.
