Brother Simon arrived soon after World War II and served St. Edward’s for over forty years. In 1957, he served as master of ceremonies for the presidential inauguration of Brother Raymond Fleck. Brother Simon is credited with speaking the most significant words on that occasion: “A college president," he said, "is one who looks back at the ‘established aims’ of the school and reinterprets them ‘in the light of new days.’”
