Brother John earned his BA from St. Edward’s University. Brother Bill Zaydak, C.S.C. reminisced that when he moved to Texas in 2011, he asked Brother John for one of his meticulously-detailed oil paintings. “Before giving it to me, John carefully pointed out all the ‘mistakes’ in it – typical of John.” However, Brother Bill remembered, “He was quite willing and interested in sharing his experience of a loving God in the midst of his struggle with declining physical and mental health. I suspect that his experience of creating art with 'mistakes', but still loving it, reflected his faith life.”
