Brother James captured the essence of his subject, Brother Vincent (Jean Pieau), eloquently in this lovely bas relief wood carving. The sense of realism and the details in both the features and beard make this hand carved work a wonderful tribute to Brother Vincent Pieau, C.S.C., the namesake of the Brother Vincent Pieau Residence on Saint Edward's Drive which is home to many of the Holy Cross Brothers.
