Next Sunday we enter the most sacred time in our Church’s liturgical year. I invite you to pause with us and reflect on the profound meaning of Holy Week and the Triduum.
Holy Week is a time of deep spiritual significance—a journey that takes us from the joy of Palm Sunday through the sorrow of Good Friday, and ultimately to the triumph of Easter. At the heart of this week is the Sacred Triduum—Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and the Easter Vigil—three holy days that commemorate the passion, death, and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Here at school, we are helping our students enter into this holy time with reverence and understanding, guiding them to see beyond the events themselves and into the deep love and sacrifice that Jesus offers to each of us. Through prayer, reflection, and age-appropriate liturgical celebrations, we hope to help them grow in their faith and deepen their relationship with Christ.
We encourage you, as the first and most important faith educators of your children, to walk this journey with them at home and in your parish communities. Attending Triduum services as a family, taking time to pray together, and talking about the meaning of Christ’s sacrifice can be powerful ways to help your children experience the mystery of our salvation in a personal and transformative way.
Have a very blessed Holy Week and a Happy Easter!

This month, we focus on the virtue of forgiveness and honor St. Maria Goretti, a young saint remembered for her extraordinary courage, purity, and forgiveness.
Born in Italy in 1890 to a poor farming family, Maria helped her mother care for her siblings after her father passed away. Even as a child, she was known for her deep love of prayer and strong faith.
At just 11 years old, Maria bravely resisted an attack from a young man named Alessandro Serenelli, saying she would rather die than commit a sin. She was stabbed multiple times and died the next day. Before she passed, Maria forgave Alessandro and prayed for his conversion.
Years later, Alessandro repented, changed his life, and even attended Maria’s canonization in 1950 — a powerful reminder that forgiveness can transform hearts. Today, St. Maria Goretti is the patron saint of purity, forgiveness, and young people.
As students, we can follow her example by:
Choosing what is right, even when it is hard
Standing up for virtue and purity
Forgiving others when they hurt us
Praying daily and trusting God
Showing mercy instead of holding grudges
Her life reminds us that holiness is not about age — it is about courage.
Heavenly Father,
We thank You for the example of St. Maria Goretti.
Help our family choose what is right, even when it is difficult.
Give us courage to stand strong in our faith,
and hearts willing to forgive as Maria did.
May our home be filled with purity, mercy, and love.
St. Maria Goretti, pray for us.
Amen.
May we all strive this month to be Vikings of virtue — brave, faithful, and forgiving.
This Lent, our school community will participate in Catholic Relief Services’ Rice Bowl, a Lenten program that invites us to pray, fast, and give in solidarity with those in need around the world. Through simple acts of sacrifice and generosity, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. We encourage all families to prayerfully join us in this effort as we live out the call to love our neighbors and serve the most vulnerable during this holy season. Rice Bowls will be collected in homerooms during Holy Week, Monday, March 30th, through Friday, April 3rd.
