Entering the Season of Lent
The holy season of Lent will be here shortly. We are reminded that this is a special time in the life of our Church—a time of prayer, reflection, and preparation as we journey toward Easter. At school, our students will be learning about the meaning of Lent and how we can grow closer to Jesus through prayer, fasting, and almsgiving.
Families play a vital role in helping children understand and live out this season. Simple practices at home—such as praying together, attending Mass, talking about making kind choices, or finding small ways to help others—can make Lent meaningful and accessible for children of all ages. Encouraging acts of generosity, patience, and compassion helps our students see that Lent is not just about “giving something up,” but about growing in love for God and one another.
We are grateful for your partnership in nurturing the faith of your children. Please know that you and your family are in our prayers during this Lenten season. May this time of reflection draw us all closer to Christ and prepare our hearts for the joy of Easter.
May God bless you and your family,
Debbie Abbott
Assistant Principal

Reports for Grades 1 - 8 were posted to the Family Portal on Tuesday, January 20. The progress reports were also distributed by e-mail. The progress report is provided to allow parents to monitor their student's academic performance. It is an opportunity to evaluate the student's current position, reflect on the consequences of missing or late work, and spot opportunities for growth and improvement. Parents can learn how to access the progress report at the SATG Parent/Student Tech Support Site.

In February, our school community will focus on the virtue of Love—a love that is patient, kind, forgiving, and selfless. Inspired by St. Valentine, we are reminded that love is more than a feeling; it is a daily choice shown through our words and actions. As St. Paul teaches us, “Love is patient, love is kind… It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.” This month, we encourage our students and families to practice Christ-like love at home, at school, and in our community.
Family Prayer for February
Loving God,
Thank You for the gift of love. Help our family to be patient and kind with one another, to forgive as You forgive, and to show love through our actions each day. Through the example of St. Valentine, teach us to love generously and faithfully. May our words and choices reflect Your love in all we do.
Amen.

Parents will not receive winter MAP scores; however, spring MAP scores will be shared toward the end of the school year and will reflect student growth over time.
