“Put on them as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, heartfelt compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience, bearing with one another and forgiving one another…And over all these put on love, that is, the bond of perfection.” Colossians 3
Today is National Kindness Day! Our school is wearing blue today, and has been challenged with doing two acts of kindness. It’s a challenge that we need to carry throughout everyday.
Even when it may not show, everyone is going through something. We all face difficulties, big or small, and a little kindness can make a big difference. Let’s do our best to lift one another up, today and always.

School Principal
In our commitment to continuous school improvement, we will regularly administer perception surveys, certified through Cognia©, our accrediting organization and trusted partner in school improvement. The purpose of the survey is to solicit feedback from our stakeholders. This year, as a part of our celebration of Discover Catholic Schools Week, we are asking you, as well as our students (grades 3-8) to complete a stakeholder survey. You will be sent an email with a link to the survey on Monday, 11/17. Your feedback is a valued and crucial component of our continuous improvement planning, so we thank you in advance for taking the time to thoughtfully respond to the survey which will be open from Nov. 16-22.
Monday, Dec 8, and Friday, Dec 19. Both are 12:30 Dismissal Days.

Our Parish Social Concerns Committee, along with our school, is excited to kick off our annual Thanksgiving Basket Collection. Each grade has been assigned a particular food item to gather. The donations will be assembled into full Thanksgiving Meal Baskets, which will be distributed by Eastern Area Community Ministries to families in need. We invite parents and children to shop together, enabling students to choose their contributions and engage in this important act of kindness. Generous donations are greatly appreciated, and students are encouraged to bring in multiple items. Our Parish Loaves & Fishes group thanks you! Click HERE to view items being collected by grade.
Join us at Panera Bread on November 14 from 4-8 p.m. 25% of sales will benefit the eighth-grade trip when you show this flyer or use code FUND4U online. 10451 Champion Farms Drive (Springhurst location ONLY) Let’s eat for a great cause!

St. Albert will soon distribute and collect field trip permission slips in FACTS. Teachers will notify parents of upcoming field trips a few weeks in advance, either by email or class newsletter. The permission slip will then appear in the "WebForms" area of the Family Portal. You can watch a very short demonstration on filling out such a permission slip here.
Permission slips that are distributed via the Family Portal will not be distributed in paper form. Permission slips that are filled out in the Family Portal will not have to be printed or turned in to school: saving the form in the Family Portal constitutes "turning it in" to the school.
We are excited to continue our Saints and Virtues lessons this year, supporting both our Catholic faith and our students’ social and emotional development. Each month, we will focus on one saint and a virtue that they exemplified in their life.
During the month of November, our students will focus on the virtue of Gratitude — recognizing and appreciating the many blessings in our lives and showing thanks through our words and actions. Gratitude helps us see God’s goodness all around us, even in the small, everyday moments.
Our Saint of the Month, Saint Francis of Assisi, is a beautiful example of living with a thankful heart. Born into wealth, Francis chose a life of simplicity and service to God. He found great joy in nature and praised God for all of creation — the sun, the moon, the animals, and the people he met. His life reminds us to be grateful for God’s gifts and to care for the world and one another.
As we enter this season of thanksgiving, may our students — and all of us — take time to pause and give thanks for the blessings in our lives.
Scripture Connection:
“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.”
— Psalm 107:1
Family Challenge:
Take time each day this month to share something you’re grateful for as a family. Simple acts of thankfulness can bring joy, peace, and a deeper awareness of God’s love.

Focus on Skill Development
This year, SAAM is shifting the focus from competition to student-athlete development. Instead of concentrating mainly on games, we’ll spend more time teaching the fundamentals—dribbling, passing, shooting, teamwork, and understanding the game.
Program Details
Schedule: The program will run for 4 weeks: January 11, 18, 25, and February 1
Teams: Student athletes will be placed on teams and work together throughout the season. Sign Ups: Open in GameDay through November 30th
Clinics: During the first three weekends, each team will attend one 45-minute clinic focused on basketball fundamentals.
Clinic times will be 12:30–1:15 p.m. or 1:15–2:00 p.m.
Once teams are created, we’ll share your child’s assigned time.
No team will practice during both sessions on the same weekend.
Game Day: On the final week (February 1), we’ll host games to let student athletes show off what they’ve learned!
Game times will be 12:30–1:00, 1:00–1:30, or 1:30–2:00 p.m., with each team playing one game.
Expert Coaching
Our clinics will be led by Alex Cook, a former four-year standout at Bellarmine University and member of Bellarmine’s U-Knighted TBT team. Alex was named First Team All-Midwest Region by the NABC and Second Team by D2CCA, as well as First Team All-GLVC and a GLVC All-Defensive Team selection. He was also recognized on the Bevo Francis Award Top 100 Watch List, honoring the nation’s top small-college basketball players.
In addition to his playing accomplishments, Alex is the Co-Founder of B Elite Basketball Camps, where he helps develop young athletes’ skills and love for the game. He currently serves as Regional Manager at Superior Van and Mobility, bringing strong leadership and mentorship to everything he does.
If you have an interest in coaching, please email the JK-2 Basketball coordinators at erinandkurt@gmail.com
Our main field is getting some much-needed TLC this season! SAAM is hard at work on field improvements, including overseeding and filling in worn spots, to make sure the field is in top shape for Spring.
To help the new grass grow strong, we kindly ask everyone to stay off the field through the winter months. Giving the seed time to take root now means a safer, greener space for all come springtime.
