Dear St. Albert Families,
With the new year still feeling fresh and many of us setting goals to grow and improve, it’s a great time to pause and talk with students about how their choices really matter. This month, our school virtue is responsibility, which goes far beyond finishing homework or following rules. Responsibility is about understanding that our actions affect the people around us. It shows up when students own their mistakes, think about how their choices impact others, and keep trying even when something feels tough. These conversations are just as important to continue at home, whether you’re talking about how your child handles a disagreement, includes someone who might be feeling left out, or sticks with a challenge instead of giving up. All of these moments help reinforce responsibility while building self-awareness, empathy, and resilience. Our goal is to always have a school community where everyone feels valued, respected, and safe.
Thank you,
Loren Corbett
School Counselor
During the month of January, our Saint and Virtue program highlights St. Joseph and the virtue of Responsibility. St. Joseph is a powerful example of quiet strength, faith, and dependability. As the foster father of Jesus, he faithfully accepted God’s plan and carried out his role with courage, humility, and trust—always doing what needed to be done, even when it was difficult or uncertain.
Through St. Joseph’s example, students learn that being responsible means doing what is right, caring for others, and following through on our commitments at home, at school, and in our community. Like St. Joseph, we are called to listen, act with integrity, and serve with love.
We encourage families to talk together about ways they can practice responsibility each day, following the example of St. Joseph.
Family Prayer:
St. Joseph, faithful servant of God, help our family grow in responsibility. Teach us to care for one another, to do our work with love, and to trust in God’s plan for our lives. Amen.
Bible Verse:
Whatever you do, do from the heart, as for the Lord and not for others- Colossians 3:23
Our students are busy completing MAP testing this week and into next week. Winter MAP assessments are used by teachers as an instructional tool to help guide and shape classroom instruction as we move into the new year. Parents will not receive winter MAP scores; however, spring MAP scores will be shared toward the end of the school year and will reflect student growth over time.
During Catholic Schools Week, St. Albert students will be making cards for the military. We would love to send these to St. Albert alum, family, and friends in the military. Please fill out this form to add their contact information!

This is because parent/teacher conferences will be occurring, and Play Cafe's space is restricted only to the cafeteria. Look for an email/sign up sheet at the start of February.

We have received a few questions about missing years on some of our championship banners. We are working to finalize a plan to invest into new championship banners with a standardized design that will be easier to update and maintain going forward. Our goal is to finalize the design and install the new banners as soon as possible. In the meantime, if you know of a missing championship year that needs to be added, please let us know as we are tracking all of them and will make sure they are updated on the new banners. Thank you for your patience.

Our main field is getting some much-needed TLC this season! SAAM is hard at work on field improvements, including overseeding and filling in worn spots, to make sure the field is in top shape for Spring.
To help the new grass grow strong, we kindly ask everyone to stay off the field through the winter months. Giving the seed time to take root now means a safer, greener space for all come springtime.
Your safety is always our top priority. To help prevent injury and protect the bleachers from damage, we kindly ask that no one climb or sit on them while they’re in the closed position.
If someone is unable to follow this guideline, we’ll respectfully ask them to move for their own safety and the safety of others. Thanks for helping us keep our space safe and welcoming for everyone!
