Online Safety
In September, we joined an agency called ‘National Safety Online’. This agency will support us with all aspects of improving everyone’s knowledge of online safety.
The agency provides training for school staff, governors and parents about online safety. As school staff and governors have now completed their basic training, we have been awarded the ‘Certified Online Safe School’ badge for 20-21. The site adds more training every month so we will continue to access this and further improve our knowledge.

These course are specially designed for parents and will be excellent in improving your knowledge and helping you to ensure you are able to keep your children safe whilst online. These courses will replace the in-school parent training we have offered in the past.
Another aspect of this training is for pupils. Teachers have access to a bank of online videos and lesson plans which will be delivered to your children. These lessons cover a range of online safety issues.
Finally, the agency provides excellent parent information leaflets about different aspects of online safety and the different apps and games which your children may be accessing. I have placed a variety of these leaflets in the Online Safety tab on the school website. The agency produces a new leaflet every month so we will add these to the website as they are released and text you to let you know when a new one has been added. I hope these leaflets will be of benefit to you and they help you to keep up-to-date with things your child may be accessing online. A list of the current 29 leaflets is displayed below and they can be found at the bottom of the Online Safety page to be downloaded.
The website has also developed a great free app for teachers and parents. The information below will tell you more about it.
