Nursery Admissions

Please contact the school office to put your child's name down for Nursery.  Applications are posted out in January for a September admission.

Nursery Cohort over-subscription Criteria

Please note, children will not be selected by any other criteria such as academic ability or special educational needs, all children will have equal access according to the criteria below.

1. Children who have an older brother or sister in the school in September when the child is due to start (a brother or sister may be a full or step-brother or a full or step-sister, living at the same address, at the time of admission).

2. Children who intend to be admitted into Springside Primary reception class.

3. Shortest distance from home to school.

If applications are received after the closing date, they will be dealt with as late applications, and will not be considered until after those applications which were received on time.

Please see the Class Pages tab - EYFS - Acorns Weekly Learning - to find out about the exciting learning our nursery children experience in more detail.

Reception Admissions

Children are allocated places in accordance with the Authority’s admissions policy. This means that priority is given to children who have brothers or sisters at the school. The proximity of the child’s home address to the school is the second consideration.

At present, the school has a nursery class, reception and two infant (Key Stage 1) and four junior (Key Stage 2) classes. The school’s existing admission limit is 35. Nursery and Reception children are taught in the Early Years Foundation Stage Unit.

Parents are informed of the class organisation in the Summer Term when staffing levels and pupil numbers are known.

Please visit the council admissions page for an online admissions form.
