At Lanark Grammar, we are dedicated to supporting students as they make important decisions about their future, both in school and beyond. To ensure our pupils have a clear understanding of the range of subjects and career paths available, we work closely with a variety of external partners, including government and council-led programmes, colleges, universities, and industry professionals.
These partnerships allow us to offer students valuable insights into different fields, helping them understand real-world applications of their studies and explore potential career paths. Through workshops, work placements, and visits, our partners contribute to a well-rounded view of post-school options, ensuring pupils are informed and empowered to make choices that align with their interests and aspirations. We aim to equip students with the knowledge and confidence to take the next steps, whether that’s further study, apprenticeships, or entering the workforce.
Below, you can find more information on how some of our external partnerships could help you.
We aim to help young people unlock their potential, no matter their circumstances. Working together with our inspiring mentor community and partners, we can help young people realise their skills and progress toward a positive destination. Our vision is for all young people to experience equality in education outcomes, career opportunities, and life chances.
We support young people with diverse, engaging, and inspiring opportunities to help them identify their talents and gain the confidence to progress to a positive post-school destination. MCR Pathways works with young people from primary seven and works with them right up until they leave school.
Your school Pathways Coordinator is Louise Healy, who is based in the room across from the library on the first floor.
Your pupil support teacher can refer you to MCR Pathways if they feel you would benefit from having a mentor. Louise would then meet with you and take you through the process of being matched with a mentor and beginning to meet with them on a weekly basis. Once you are matched with a mentor, you will meet with them for one period a week. Your mentor is someone you can talk to and who can offer advice around things such as what you want to do after you leave school, building confidence and offering general support.
If you have any questions regarding MCR Pathways, feel free to drop by to speak to Louise!
