2015: Murdered To Death
The recent WHADS performance of the comedy Murdered To Death by Peter Gordon was much appreciated by all who attended. Many called it their best ever performance. So if you missed it don't forget to keep an eye on the website and notice boards for their next event. The play, directed by Hamish Ellwood, was a hilarious spoof in the best Agatha Christie tradition, and was set in a country house in the 1930s. It had a cast of characters guaranteed to delight - Bunting the butler with his love of sherry; the stiff upper lipped Colonel who loved a tipple and his long suffering wife; a shady, supposedly French, art dealer and his moll, a well meaning local sleuth who seemed to attract murder wherever she goes, a rich widow and her niece; a put-upon but competent local constable, and last but not least, the bumbling Inspector Pratt who had skills similar to the famous Inspector Clouseau. But who were the murderers? Naturally it was the people you least expected - the worrying thing is that one of them lives in the Village !!
