I make this drink when the kids or I have a cold. We keep this simmering on the stove (or slow cooker), and refill our glasses with the hot drink all day long.
2 cinnamon sticks
~10 slices of ginger, depending on your taste
Juice of 1 lemon (2 lemons if you really like lemons, none if you have a very sore throat)
Honey to taste (honey water is great for sore throats)
Optional: cloves, cardamom, slices of fruits such as orange and apple
Fill a large pot about ¾ full of water (or apple cider if you don’t like honey). Add all ingredients to the pot. Bring to a boil and then simmer. Skim the drink if necessary. Drink the hot drink all day long.
