Reminder for families that next week is Parent-Teacher-Student Conferences to discuss your child's learning. Conference times will be sent home on Monday or Tuesday. Please note:
Students will be dismissed at 11:23 on Thursday November 21st
Friday November 22nd is a Professional Development Day (no school for students)
We will have a station set up in the hallway to look at your child's work prior to coming in to meet with Ms. Radsma and I, so please allow yourself a few extra minutes before or after your scheduled time to look at your child's work.
A conference summary will be sent home the following week to summarize our conversation in printed format for you.
If you are unable to make your scheduled time, please contact me to cancel or to reschedule.
We read "A Salmon's Sky View" and then illustrated a background to demonstrate what we know about the salmon ecosystem (predators, environment etc.)
Then we painted with watercolours!
When they are dry we will use a First Nations salmon stamp to finish off our science-art!

We collected leaves outside to make leaf prints next week. Ms. W is pressing a few to use.

The Sierra Club visited us to teach about Lifecycles and Ecosystems. We started with stations inside.
We used our senses to make observations.
We ordered stages of the life cycle.
We matched antlers and animal bones with their photos.
We did a scavenger hunt outside looking closely at nature.
We described animals to partners by giving clues.
We discovered a lot of nature in our school playground!
