March 1, 2020

Lots going on over the past few weeks! Can't believe there is only 2 weeks until Spring Break!

Literacy Week coming up on March 9-13th. Parents are invited to our Open House on Thursday March 12th from 2:30pm-4pm and 5-6:30pm. We hope to see you there!

100 Day Festivities!

We made crowns, and then gathered in the gym with other K/1 classes to take part in 100 Day stations.

We built towers, read books, solved puzzles, did jumping jacks and much more!

Big smiles :)

More big smiles :)

We went to Hartland Landfill to learn about recycling.

Students did a sorting game in the Learning Centre. It was pretty complicated and even the adults learned some things!

We travelled into the landfill on the school bus and were amazed at the amount of garbage.

Students also learned about the other R's: Reduce and Re-use. We want to teach the other students at Ruth King about what we learned so we are going to make a video to teach them!

We celebrated Pink Shirt day. Say no to bullies and Be Kind!

We had artist Tobias Tomlinson visit our class courtesy of ArtsReach.

Each student decorated a tile for the collaborative mural in the foyer.

Next, the tiles were glazed...now they are off to the kiln to be fired!
