We had a very busy week...with a field trip to Goldstream and Halloween! A big thank you to the parent volunteers who came on the field trip to assist with chaperoning!

Our field trip to Goldstream was great!

We learned about the salmon life cycle in the nature house.

We learned how the salmon is connected to other life in the forest and stream.

The naturalist even dissected the eye!

We saw lots of salmon...

...close up!

Playing a math game: we used 20 dice and had to find ways to make 5 or 10.

We had lots of spooky Halloween costumes!

Happy Halloween from Div. 9!

We tried story workshop for the first time in grade 1, where we use loose part to create our own story.

Then we illustrated our story and painted it! Ms. Walker was the scribe for our first time.

We made math number sentences (equations) using scoops of pumpkins and ghost counters.

We did lots of counting!

We designed a class mural together to show how all of the creatures at Goldstream are connected to their environment.

We have been reviewing our quiet reading routines...we are ALL readers!
