Today's technology is just amazing; in a decade we have gone from film to digital, and the improvements to digital mediums have allowed us to capture landscapes that used to require massively complex, specialty cameras. This graph shows how the ratings of compact digital cameras have improved over the years:

The groups from before captured some excellent panoramic shots from the towers, but they could use some revisiting. For instance, look at this panorama from the San Giorgio Bell tower.
From a distance, it looks pretty clear. But if you start to zoom in on some of the landscape, it becomes rather blurry:
If these panoramas are retaken with a modern camera with a higher resolution, we should be able to resolve much greater detail from the views. Of course, this also depends on our panorama-creating software!
