We will follow the Flint Canyon Trail first. We will be hiking along the perimeters of big mansions. For those of you who are interested in photography, this trail presents many good opportunities for creating a mosaic of nature and suburban life. Flint Canyon Trail is very flat and easy to hike.

In about 2.1 miles, we will reach the beginning of Cherry Canyon Trail. There will be a small elevation gain of a few hundred feet. At the top we will have a good view of Altadena with the JPL campus in the background. The descending trail will be more challenging. The hills are quite steep at certain points. Then, we will re-join the Flint Canyon Trail and re-trace our steps back to our cars.

Total miles: around 7 miles

Time: Less than 4 hours
