The San Gabriel Valley Council anticipates taking two traveling Scout Troops, one direct Scout Troop and two Venture Crews to the 2013 Jamboree at the BSA’s new permanent Jamboree home, The Summit, near Glen Jean , West Virginia. Space will be reserved on a first come, first serve basis of date of receipt of deposit, subject to Council approval of all youth.

Prerequisites: As required by BSA policy (available at www.bsajamboree.org ) with all National requirements being met by Memorial Day 2013, plus one full week of Scout Resident camp by Summer 2012. Prerequisites, restrictions and medical limitations are non-negotiable. Though not a requirement, it is strongly suggested that all youth be 13 years of age by Memorial Day 2013.

Application and Selection: May be done online through www.bsajamboree.org or with the paper application attached to this information form. Selection of Traveling Troop/Direct Troop/Venture Crew should be made with a note on the application/payment. There will be a limited ability to change this selection.

Deposit and Payment Schedule:

The deposit of $200 is due with the application, to be paid at Smiser Service Center at 3450 E Sierra Madre Blvd., Pasadena. Of this deposit, $100 is non-refundable. The payment schedule will be distributed to those having paid the deposit. Generally, the payments will be $300/mo for the traveling troops, $200/mo for the direct troop and $250/mo for Ventures all beginning on May 1, 2012.

Late Payment: Scouts having late payments may be dropped to a wait list.

Wait List: There will be a wait list for each of the three groups in the event a registered Scout drops or is allowed to change registration.
