Death Valley Family Camp

Texas Springs Campsite – Death Valley

Dates: Feb 17^th to Feb 20^th

Departure: Various times on Feb 17^th – carpooling encouraged for 5 hr drive. Some families will arrive Saturday. Troop gear for this trip will be assigned out to each PL/APL at the Feb 14th Troop meeting since drivers will be departing at different times on Fri and Sat and we will need to split the Troop gear among all the drivers.

Meals: Scouts will eat with their patrols. Scouts will be consolidated into two patrols for this trip for purposes of camping and meals.

Families need to arrange for their own meals and equipment. Suggest coordinating with other families. Restaurant is also available about a 5 minute drive from the campsite.

Troop will bring a couple of extra stoves, lanterns and tents that can be used by family members, but please bring your own gear if you have it. Please let the Scoutmaster know in advance if your family needs to borrow troop gear to make sure we have enough for everyone.

Cost: $10 for every person (scouts and family members) for camping, $25 per scout for food, and $28 for gas for scouts going by themselves. Scouts should also bring money for meals while driving and $11 for admission ticket to Scotty's Castle Tour.
