The Great Pass runs as far west as Vrue and as far east as Faren's port city of Karrok. Major ports along the pass include Olin, Feltaris, and Arridem. Marauder's Cove also sits on the Great Pass, and it is from there that the Marauder commands his fleet of pirate ships. The Great Pass is an important shipping lane, but the pirate presence has long angered the Empire as they frequently lose ships to the Marauder's forces.
The Marauder sees the Great Pass as his domain, and is fairly certain the Empire is unaware of just who they contend with when they come against his forces at sea.
The Great Pass is also home to Toltos, the Spear of the Sea, the ghost ship which has terrorized the ships of the pass, both pirate and otherwise, for some time.
