Another method of making a snack is melting the fat and stirring in the dry ingredients, typically flapjack type bars.

Ingredients
100g margarine
100g granulated sugar
100g self raising flour
100g rolled oats
1 dstsp golden syrup
1 tspn ground ginger
½ tsp bicarb soda
Method
Heat oven to Gas Mk4 180OC
Put marg and syrup in saucepan
Melt on GENTLE heat.
Stir in the sugar
Place on heat proof mat
Stir in oats, flour, ginger and bicarb
Grease a large baking tray
Take rounded teaspoon of mixture, roll to a ball, place on baking tray and flatten
Bake for 10 mins until golden brown. Allow to cool on tray for 5 mins
Place on cooling tray
