MFC-L8600 Drum and Toner Reset

Drum Reset:

1. Press (Cancel) to interrupt the error displayed on the machine's display.

1. Press (Settings).
2. Press All Settings.
3. Press the Up or Down arrow to display Machine Info..
4. Press Machine Info..
5. Press Parts Life.
6. Touch the DIAL PAD for one second to display the keys.

1. Press # until the Touchscreen message changes.
2. Press Drum.
3. Press Yes.

1. Press (Home).

Toner Reset:

1. Open the front cover of your Brother MFC laser printer where you can access its toner cartridges.

2. Press and hold the STAR (*) button to see the toner menu on the screen (it will not be lit up – you can light it up by selecting the fax option with the cover closed and remembering where it is).

3. Select the toner you need to reset. Press “yes” to reset the selected toner cartridge. Repeat for each toner cartridges colour as required.

Note: for selecting the correct toner you need to understand the cartridge code system Brother uses:

• Black is K, Magenta is M, Cyan is C and Yellow is Y
• TNR = toner
• STR = starter cartridge (the toner cartridges that came with your printer)
• STD = standard toner

HC = high yield toner

4. Close the Front Cover. Your toner cartridge should now be reset.
