The following are recommended online SketchUp resources.
My SketchUp Tips: Various tips I have created for students including some quick video hints on how to perform procedure that may be valuable for completing specific assignments.
SketchUp YouTube Channel: Numerous video tutorials from the developers themselves. Videos cover every command on the toolbar all the way to advanced concepts. Videos added regularly.
Sketchup Homepage: The home of Google Sketchup. Here you can download the free version of the educational version. The educational version is available to students for free and a license code can be obtained from your instructor. While there are features within the educational version that are not available within the free version, students will find the free version very complete for the types of conceptual assignments completed within this course. For more accurate designs, the educational version will provide the student with an entire toolbox of professional level tools. This site also provides many of the online tutorials you will be required to complete as part of this course.
SketchUp Wiki: the self-proclaimed ultimate encyclopedia for everything SketchUp! It isn't quite there yet, but the site does show some serious potential.
Sketchup Tutorials: A wonderful collection of online audio/video tutorials that describe the features and uses of SketchUp. We will use these tutorials during several of our labs.
School: Software training material for SketchUp. DVDs are available for purchase and I highly recommended them for anyone trying to learn SketchUp. I have a copy of the Level One DVD that we will use for class. They also offer a SketchUp podcast that is exceptional and very educational. You can subscribe to this video podcast through iTunes or view on their web site. Recommended for each student to maximize their knowledge of SketchUp.
SketchUcation: [Description from the site]SketchUcation hosts video tutorials for a variety of 3D professions where SketchUp is used in the production process. It does this by answering requests placed by people on the SketchUcation forums. SketchUcation strives to provide structure and hotlinking to external learning sources such as tutorials found in the @Last Software forums, privately owned training companies who provide learning materials and other sources of training materials found online and offline.
