2015 Pongal Celebration and Kolam Competition (பொங்கல் விழாவும் கோலப் போட்டியும்)

2015 TTS Pongal Vizha and Kolam Competition were held at the Woodville Community Center, Tallahassee, Florida 32310, USA on Saturday, January 17, 2015 between 6:00 and 9:45 PM. This year we continued the tradition of doing in-door kolam drawings but we did the Kolam on table-top rather than on the floor since many found it convenient to draw it on the table. First, we affixed black plastic table-cloths to the round tables (about six in number). This year we had five adult teams and one children's team began to draw and paint the kolam with white and colored powders. Kolams were judged by three independent people and prizes awarded to first, second, and participation prizes. B

Bhanu and Mani Priya's team won the first prize. We also collected money for future programs. Sasi and Vasu family brought some sugar cane for the Festival.
