Cavers: Aileen, Róisín, Shauna, Bus, Muh, Penguin

Trip time: about 4 hours -ish

The original plan was to do a digging trip into Boothroyd's Bit in Pollnagossan, but wet weather during the week and iffy looking weather on the day made it a less appealling prospect (some heaved sighs of relief and went all-out on the breakfast). Breakfast in Clancy's was leisurely, and it wasn't til close on 1pm that we'd finally mobilised towards the cave. The Cascades were fairly impressive. Muh attempted some digging at the entrance but the offending boulder can be passed with care, just a bit tight and awkward. Just inside the entrance i was thrust unwillingly into the lead and we set off. It was a fairly leisurely trip, over a year since i was last in. My only highlight of the entrance series was finally managing to fit through an awkward wet slot upright rather than having to crawl underneath in the water.

Upstream we stopped at the Secret Passage, the new plan being to check out some leads in it. I'd never been down it far, and luckily decided again that the further reaches could wait. Shauna and i turned at the first awkward bit, thus avoiding the mud duck the others had forgotten about, and wandered back to the mainstream, and then upstream as far as the low roofed section. Here we turned and went back to meet up with the others, sitting in comfort in a KISU while they didn't find much else to write about. Bus' free climb was disappointing and went nowhere. However there is still a bit of digging potential here to get into Swann's Way between the two sumps and hence a dry connection to Marble Arch.

The way out was uneventful.
