B. Organizational Managment
1. Demonstrate an understanding of the role policy and procedure play in school district governance and administration;
2. Demonstrate knowledge of statutory regulations affecting Board meetings, communications, procedures, and practices that affect special education governance;
3. Demonstrate an understanding of special education administrative models used in Minnesota.
Reflection: Organizational Management is an area of strength but still one I can grow in. I had the opportunity to observe multiple special education programs in Grand Rapids, which is a independent special education district. I observed and interviewed New Direction, an alternative to suspension program in Sandstone which serves students both with and without IEPs, and Northern Lights Academy level 4 programming which are both in a special education cooperative models. I have previously worked in districts with both independent and cooperative special education programs. During my practicums I had an opportunity to attend Special Education Cooperative Board Meetings, a district Board Meeting with special education updates, NLA Board Meeting, and Special Education update meeting to Superintendents in the Cooperative. I have attended Special Education law seminars, MDE Special Education Forums and Webinars that have helped to understand policy, procedure, and governance.

3. SpEd Monthly Reporting to Superintendent
Our superintendent/Principal was unable to attend our CST meetings and through 1:1 meetings we were able to share SpEd services and needs, maintain open communication, and were able to problem solve concerns when needed.
4. Northern Lights Special Education Cooperative Board Meeting Notes
Attending this board meeting was helpful to understand how decisisons are made for the cooperative and see the process for meeting needs at multiple school districts.
