Curriculum Planning and Development for the Success of All Learners
Reflection: My current elementary school was identified as a school in need of Comprehensive Support and Improvement through ESSA. In an effort to improve our student outcomes our leadership team did a deep dive into our educational practices, fidelity, and curriculum. However, I have not had this level of experience digging into curriculum assessment and planning at the secondary level. I would like to continue to develop my skills so I can be as effective with High School Curriculum Planning and Development as I am in early childhood and elementary. In order to meet this growth area I plan to increase my time supporting High School staff.
I have met this competency through training, supporting, and leading MCA testing which is a monitor and assessment tool of student learning and the effectiveness of our instruction, working with our Comprehensive Support and Improvement (CSI) Team on a PreK – 6th Grade school improvement plan, Fountas & Pinnell Classroom curriculum review and purchase request, preparing training and supports for classroom staff, coursework on curriculum review and creatio, and observation and reflection of alternative education programs
