Organizational Management
Reflection: This past school year I was able to further develop my management skills by directing and updating our paraprofessional scheduling and student support service delivery models, working with our CSI team to implement What I Need (WIN) time, PLC’s, and common prep times, and work with the superintendent and CSI team on the 2019/20 elementary schedule. This responsibility has been challenging and has allowed me to grow in my management abilities, conflict resolution, time management, and collaborative problem solving. This has been a valuable use of my time as school administrators must coordinate and manage the work of many areas in the school.
1. Request for Paraprofessional staff to complete planning tool.
Our district decided to restructure the way paraproffesional supports were utilized with students on IEP's. This required all paraprofessionals submit a detailed description of their current daily duties and how they support students so the Special Education Team could analyze schedules.
2. Develop a plan for Elementary Schedule.
Our district shares specialists such as PE, Music, and Art teachers across our K-12 setting. Our schedule needs to compliment the High School's period schedule so all student needs are met. Once the schedule paramiters are set we are able to provide a base schedule to the leadership team to fill in our core instruction and WIN (What I Need) time. Increase core instruction and WIN time is a new schedule format for the upcoming 2019/20 school year.
