Krka Wind Orchestra was established in 1957 in Straža, Slovenia. Krka Wind Orchestra is a group of amateur musicians who are dedicated to perform music at the highest possible level of excellence. Audiences benefit from hearing artists performing a classical and contemporary repertoire. Their concert performances are full of spirit, precision and enthusiasm. Besides bringing the new musical repertoire to our community, the Krka Wind Orchestra also contributes to the music education of young people. The orchestra has played with some of Slovenian's leading soloists as well as with international ones. Conductor of the orchestra is Matevž Novak.

The achievements show that the orchestra is internationally recognized and is progressing constantly. In 2005 the orchestra won a gold medal with distinction at the World Music Contest in Netherlands. It is a multiple winner of the International Band Competition FLICORNO D’ORO in Italy (1995, 1997, 1999, 2015) and winner of Bamberg in Germany (2002) and in Pécs in Hungary (2010). The orchestra is five-time winner of the Slovenian National Championship, including twice in the top Excellence Category in 2006 and 2012.

Orchestra worked with Nigel Hess, Philip Sparke and Bart Picqueuer.
