10:20 - 10:50 Ninja Slayer From Animation 7-8 (Funi, Hulu)
Notes: we went a bit off schedule tonight, beginning with the samplers. We started watching BBK/BRNK, and seemed to be pretty taken with it as a group. Then we tried Nurse Witch Komugi R, and bailed on that less than halfway through. At that point we decided to go for another full-length sampler, Prince of Stride: Alternative (which seemed decent, but would've been better if it had put its focal sports action a bit earlier in the episode).
OK, so...break. Intermission went according to plan. Then we tried Noragami, and Funimation kept having buffering problems, so we switched over to the One Punch Man OVA. After that we went back to Funimation, and it seemed like 12 minutes had been long enough for Funi to buffer Noragami 4...but when we tried Noragami 5 we were looking back at the same issue. We tried letting it buffer for a minute or two (no dice), then tried switching to Crunchyroll for Miss Monochrome; it too kept freezing. So we gave up on streaming for the rest of the night, meaning that we didn't watch Noragami episode 5, or any of our short shows.
Instead we sampled more stuff via rips/fansubs, since that's all that was working:
Animator Expo episode 30 Ultraman
Ajin - Demi-human episode 1
Rainbow Days (yeah, we eventually got around to this)
Ajin seemed to interest people, and even Rainbow Days was mildly interesting. The Animator Expo had 8 minutes of well-animated plot for what seems like a big Ultraman even movie, a young fan's daydream, so that was pretty good as well.
