7 - 7:25 Sampler: Ano Natsu de Matteru
7:25 - 8:15 Squid Girl season 2 eps. 1-2
8:15 - 9:05 A Certain Magical Index highlights 1-2
9:05 - 9:15 intermission
9:15 - 11:05 Feature: Lupin III The Mystery of Mamo
Attendance: 8
Gene, Victor, Steve, Steven, Alan, Adam, Brian, Peter
7 - 8:15 Star Driver 1-3
8:15 - 9:05 Mawaru Penguindrum 1-2
9:05 - 9:15 intermission
9:15 - 10:30 Michiko and Hatchin 1-3
10:30 - 11:20 Minami-ke 1-2
Attendance: 7
Guy, Steven, Brian, Peter, Alan, Jenia, Adam
Notes: we decided that in future weeks we'd swap Minami-ke and Star Driver. Suggested feature for next week is one episode of Legend of the Angel OVA (Adam's suggestion) and 1 episode of the Gatchaman OVA (Alan's suggestion). Whatever we like we can continue the week after. Guy also noted he wouldn't be able to host the weekend of President's Day (2/17-2/20), which is the same weekend of the Madoka signing at Anime Jungle and the premiere of Arrietty. Finally, Mystery of Mamo (or Secret of Mamo) was pretty well enjoyed even though it's sort of arthouse Lupin, if that makes any sense. Apparently it just got added to Hulu.
7 - 7:25 Sampler: Recorder and Randsell
7:25 - 7:50 Squid Girl season 2 ep. 3
7:50 - 9:05 A Certain Magical Index highlights (our 3rd through 5th episodes)
9:05 - 9:15 intermission
9:15 - 10:45 Feature: Gatchaman OVA 1 and Legend of the Angel (Angel Densetsu)
Attendance: 9
Gene, Jenia, "Cat" Stevens, Steven, Rogelio, Emilio, Alan, Adam, Brian
7 - 8:15 Minami-ke 3-5
8:15 - 9:05 Mawaru Penguindrum 3-4
9:05 - 9:15 intermission
9:15 - 10:30 Michiko and Hatchin 4-6
10:30 - 11:20 Star Driver 4-5
Attendance: 9
Guy, Steve Racer, "Cat" Stevens, Steven, Victor, Alan, Jenia, Brian, Peter
Notes: Recorder and Randsell episodes are short, so we watched through several of them (through the Setsubun episode, a good place to stop, since showings were being held on Setsubun). Decided not to continue Gatchaman - 1 episode was enough for most - but Legend of the Angel was a great comedic hit and left everybody wanting more. Steve Racer set Guy's clock and found that it's digitwise binary, not unitwise.
7 - 7:25 Sampler skipped - we got a late start
7:25 - 7:50 Squid Girl season 2 ep. 4
7:50 - 9:05 A Certain Magical Index highlights 6-7
9:05 - 9:15 intermission
9:15 - 11:05 Feature: Kara no Kyoukai (Garden of Sinners) movies 1-2
Attendance: 7
Gene, Brian, Alan, Jenia, Victor (had to leave early), Adam, "Cat" Stevens
7 - 7:50 Minami-ke 6-7
7:50 - 9:05 Mawaru Penguindrum 5-7
9:05 - 9:15 intermission
9:15 - 10:05 Michiko and Hatchin 7-8
10:05 - 11:20 Star Driver 6-8
Attendance: 7
Guy, Brian, Peter, Alan, Jenia, "Cat" Stevens, Adam
Notes: because Guy won't be available next weekend, the Friday night group agreed to skip regular Saturday showings on the 18th; that's when some of us will go see Arrietty instead. Kara no Kyoukai movies were well received, but people wanted to take a bit of a break before jumping into more of them. Finally, we need to consider alternate showing locations so that we aren't always placing the burden on the same few people.
7 - 7:25 Sampler: The Knight in the Area 1
7:25 - 7:50 Squid Girl season 2 ep. 5
7:50 - 9:05 A Certain Magical Index highlights 9-11 (our 8th - 10th episodes)
9:05 - 9:15 intermission
9:15 - 10:45 Feature: They Were 11
Attendance: 9
Gene, Adam, Alan, Jenia, "Cat" Stevens, Steven, Sean (Steven and Steven's friend), Brian, Victor
7 - 9 or so: Studio Ghibli's The Secret World of Arrietty at the AMC 14 Atlantic Times Square.
Afterwards either dinner or stopping by Arthur's house for a few random episodes of things (we chose dinner).
Attendance: We Were 11
Alan
Jasen (Alan's friend)
Arthur
Claire (Arthur's sister)
Adam
Jenia
Ting-fang (Caltech grad student)
"Cat" Stevens
Steven
Sean
Steve Racer
Notes: On Friday we also sampled Gokujo episode 2 (it's short). They Were 11 was well-liked, and really is shojo sci-fi (even the computers sparkle! How about some gender-bending!).
Gene bailed on us and saw Arrietty earlier on Saturday. Everybody seemed to like Arrietty - nobody had any complaints, just lots of positive comments. Afterwards we tried going out for dinner (still at the Atlantic Times Square), but forgot to account for dinner preferences beforehand - half of us ended up at Curry House, and the other half at Happy Time Cafe. We need to remember to account for meal constraints like "are you vegetarian?" and "do you hate curry (or whatever we're talking about eating)?"...
7 - 7:25 Sampler: Figure 17
7:25 - 7:50 Squid Girl season 2 ep. 6
7:50 - 8:40 A Certain Magical Index highlights (our 11th - 12th episodes)
8:40 - 8:50 intermission
8:50 - 10:55 Feature: Colorful
Attendance: 7
Gene, Brian, Adam, Alan, "Cat" Stevens, Victor, Steve Racer
7 - 8:15 Minami-ke 8-10
8:15 - 9:05 Mawaru Penguindrum 8-9
9:05 - 9:15 intermission
9:15 - 10:30 Michiko and Hatchin 9-11
10:30 - 11:20 Star Driver 9-10
Attendance: 7
Guy, Adam, Alan, Brian, Victor, Arthur, Steve Racer
Notes: Our Friday night schedule got a little messed up because our sampler, Figure 17, starts with a double-length episode. To handle that we watched only 1 episode of Magical Index (#13), and we switched its order with Squid Girl because Gene's computer was insisting on a Flash update.
Oh, and on Saturday Alan broke the back of one of Guy's chairs while just sitting in it. Another one of those chairs had broken along the exact same line not much earlier...
7 - 7:25 Sampler: Brave 10
7:25 - 7:50 Squid Girl 2 ep. 7
7:50 - 9:15 Index highlights 12th - 14th episodes (episodes 14-16)
9:15 - 9:25 intermission

10:05 - 11:20 Star Driver 11-13
Attendance: 5
Guy, Adam, Brian, Cat Stevens, Alan
7 - 7:25 Sampler: Poyopoyo
7:25 - 8:15 Squid Girl 2 eps. 8-9
8:15 - 9:05 Index highlights 15th-16th episodes (presumably 17-18)
9:05 - 9:15 intermission
9:15 - ? Feature: Viewer's choice of classics; either Megazone 23, part 1 (85 minutes) or Dragon Half and Fairy Princess Ren/Elf Princess Rane (120 minutes)
Attendance: 9
Gene, Adam, "Cat" Stevens, Jenia, Alan, Victor, Brian, Geoff, Rob
7 - 8:15 Minami-ke 13-15
8:15 - 9:05 Mawaru Penguindrum 13-14
9:05 - 9:15 intermission
9:15 - 10:30 Michiko and Hatchin 14-16
10:30 - 11:20 Star Driver 14-15
Attendance: 7
Arthur, Adam, Guy,Alan, Jenia, Brian, Victor
Notes: Feature chosen for 3/9 was Megazone 23 part 1. The 80s factor was appreciated: not so much the non-ending. We chased it with an episode of Yume-Iro Patissiere.
7 - 7:50 Sampler: Aquarion EVOL
7:50 - 8:15 Squid Girl 2 eps. 10
8:15 - 9:30 Index highlights 17th-19th episodes (presumably 19-21)
9:30 - 9:40 intermission
9:40 - 11:15 Feature: Tibetan Dog
Attendance: 6
Gene, Adam, Jenia, Brian, Alan, Victor
7 - 7:50 Minami-ke 16-17 (aka Minami-ke Okawari 3-4)
7:50 - 9:05 Mawaru Penguindrum 15-17
9:05 - 9:15 intermission
9:15 - 10:05 Michiko and Hatchin 17-18
10:05 - 11:20 Star Driver 16-18
Attendance: 6
Guy, Adam, Brian, Alan, Jenia, Victor
Notes: Folks seemed to agree that Tibetan Dog looked good, but either fell apart or never really held together in the first place. Aquarion EVOL was seen as being better than the original Aquarion - it might not be good, but at least we all watched the whole (double-length) episode.
7 - 7:25 Sampler: Rinne no Lagrange
7:25 - 7:50 Squid Girl 2 ep. 11
7:50 - 9:05 A Certain Magical Index highlights (20th - 22nd episodes -
22-24, presumably)
9:05 - 9:15 intermission
9:15 - 11:05 Feature: Kara no Kyoukai movies 3 and 4
Attendance: 9
Gene, Brian, Adam, Jenia, "Cat" Stevens, Victor, Alan, Steve Racer, Alexa

8:15 - 9:05 Mawaru Penguindrum 18-19
9:05 - 9:15 intermission
9:15 - 10:30 Michiko and Hatchin 19-20
10:30 - 11:20 Star Driver 19-20
Attendance: 7
Guy, Adam, Brian, Alan, Jenia, "Cat" Stevens, Victor
7 - 7:50 Sampler: Ozma and Brother, Dear Brother (Oniisama E)
7:50 - 8:15 Squid Girl 2 ep. 12
8:15 - 9:30 A Certain Magical Index II highlights: episodes 6-7 (6-8 were scheduled)
9:30 - 9:40 intermission and watched the Asura's Wrath DLC
9:40 - 11:10 Feature: Goshogun: The Time Etrangere
Attendance: 9
Gene, Alan, Brian, Jenia, "Cat" Stevens, Steven, Adam, Victor, Steve Racer
7 - 8:15 Minami-ke Okawari 8-10
8:15 - 9:05 Mawaru Penguindrum 20-21
9:05 - 9:15 intermission
9:15 - 10:05 Michiko and Hatchin 21-22
10:05 - 11:20 Star Driver 21-23
Attendance: 6
Guy, Alan, Jenia, Brian, Adam, Victor
Notes: We had originally planned to watch 3 episodes (6-8) of Index II, but only ended up watching 2; however, we did fit in the Asura's Wrath DLC. We streamed Ozma and Brother, Dear Brother from Viki; Ozma via iPad (worked great) and Dear Brother via a computer, on which it played ads (much like Hulu - one at beginning, one forcefully inserted at the midpoint, and one whenever you tried to scrub the timeline on the episode). No ads on the iPad. Both shows seemed to be well-liked or interesting, at least for the single episode people saw. Goshogun got a more mixed reception, especially the ambiguous ending.
On Saturday, Guy suggested Bunny Drop for showings, recommended against Lupin because it wouldn't be done before we started watching it, and indicated he didn't want to watch Bodacious Space Pirates.
7 - 11 no-schedule showings (i.e. lots of samplers, with an emphasis on shows we're considering for next season). Specifically, that meant:
Ozma 1 (yes, again - Steve didn't see it before)
Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere 1
Giant Killing 1
Eyeshield 21 ep. 3
Another 2
Chihayafuru 1
Shangri-La 1
Kill Me Baby 2
Un-Go 2
Gokujo 3
Attendance: 5 (largely because of the no-we're-not-oh-yes-we-are last minute change)
Gene, Steve Racer, Alan, Jenia, Adam
7 - 8:15 Minami-ke Okawari 11-13
8:15 - 9:30 Mawaru Penguindrum 22-24
9:30 - 9:30 intermission, sampling, and schedule discussion for next season (at least in theory - we may watch a bit of Penguindrum, take a break, then finish that and take another break for scheduling)
10:05 - 11:20 Star Driver 24-25
Attendance: 7
Guy, "Cat" Stevens, Brian, Alan, Jenia, Adam, Arthur
Notes: Saturday we started about 1/2 hour late due to late arrivals and technical issues (note: don't mark TV shows or movies destined for an iPad "part of a compilation" - they won't show up), so we watched Minami-ke, browbeat Adam and Cat Stevens into voting and put together a schedule, then finished intermission and went straight into Penguindrum and Star Driver.
Our schedule decisions were based on Gene preferring to keep features on Fridays and Guy not objecting, and on the fact that Lupin wouldn't be done in time for next season. So we have:
Friday
samplers
Rinne no Lagrange OR Kill Me Baby
Tiger and Bunny
Features
Saturday
Nichijou
Nisemonogatari / Maria Holic Alive
Future Diary
Usagi Drop / Ben-to
