Laurie began offering private piano lessons for beginners in the early 1980s while still a piano student herself. Under the mentorship of her own piano instructor, Laurie offered lessons to beginners until they reached a proficiency level that would enable them to transfer to her instructor, who no longer accepted beginning students.
Over the years since then, she has worked with many students, both as the primary instructor and as a supplementary instructor working with another instructor's students.
Laurie has resumed offering piano lessons simply because she has been requested so often to do so.
She is excited to be offering piano lessons to seniors because of the many documented physical and mental benefits to seniors who continue, resume, or take up piano lessons as older adults. It is gratifying to see seniors keep their hands flexible and functional, and their brains and mental acuity sharp, through weekly piano lessons and daily practice.
If you are an adult interested in resuming piano lessons after many years away from it, or just a beginner looking to get started now, you may contact Laurie at Parksiders@gmail.com for more information regarding pricing and availability.
