Shelley Jackson (born in 1963) is a writer & artist. In 1995 she created Patchwork Girl (hypertext), a work of electronic literature. It tells the story through visual female body parts stitched together through text and image divided in five segments:
a Graveyard
a Journal
a Quilt
a Story
& Broken accents
|
These segments will take the reader through the story in multiple directions through different linking words and images.
Read here--> Plot and Structure
The way how Jackson is taking the reader through a love story of the monster and the creator based on Frankenstein is mind blowing. It forced me to think about different subjects. This has to do with the Gender studies that I did in Vancouver. There's are so many interesting situations going on here.
- Hypertext as a narrative medium &
female writing
- Gender issues
- Identity
- Cyberspace Performance and so on.......
