I am not sure if the World Wide Web will ever be considered as an old medium, but it is already over 20 years old, so I am gonna go with Tim Berners - Lee on this. With his invention of the Web, he changed the way we live, like no one else in the past 50 years. The Internet brought so many changes in our lives, that we can certainly say that our lifestyles would be totally different without it. A simple idea conceptually, a huge project in scope though.
Tim Berners - Lee did not stop there though. He continues to push the limits of the Web and he is the coordinator of W3C. His later innovation, the Semantic Web is currently one of the hottest topics on the Web and promises to once again change the way we communicate.
Broken Sword as a text adventure
I have always been a huge fan of graphic adventure games. I have spent countless hours trying to figure out how to solve that puzzle before going to bed at peace. Being fairly young though, I missed the era of text adventures. I always regretted this and it was a good chance to do something about it. What a better idea than turning a scene of one of my very favorite graphic adventures to text adventure?
So I decided to do just that with the opening scene from Broken Sword 2. The scene was chosen because it is a classic "escape the room" scenario and there were no dialogs. The puzzle was fairly easy also, so that would make the process easier. I used Quest, which is a specialized editor for making text adventures, as well a platform to share your games and play other peoples' ones. To play the game you need the Quest editor, which can be downloaded from here:
