The Institute of Applied Creativity Research is an institute dedicated to research into creativity. At this institute, researchers explore the realm of creativity in the human psyche, research how creative processes are related to different states of mind, and study techniques to enhance and channel creativity within science.
Objectives:
- Developing tools and techniques to research and enhance creativity.
- Subdivisions: mental illnesses and creativity, creativity and psychoactive substances/altered mental states
Research topics
Trade-offs of mental diseases:
ADHD: High Creativity vs. Low Focus?
Mood disorders: High Creativity vs. Heavy Mood Swings?
Creativty and psychoactive substances/altered mental states
How do different states of meditation affect creativity?
How do artistic practices such as painting or making music affect creativity?
How do psychoactive substances affect creativity?
In relation to mental diseases?
In relation to meditation?
How can we use findings in these research areas to enhance creativity in scientific practice?
Project proposals:
Developing games to enhance focus and/or stable mood to help creativity "find it's path" in subjects.
Developing games to get "healthy" subjects in a state of mind comparable to ADHD/Mood disorders to enhance creativity.
Activities to enhance creativity during a psychoactive experience.
Using VR to create set/setting to stimulate the brains.
What does changing a digital or analog environment do with subjects? From field trips to digital 3D environments.
Meditation techniques to enhance creativity.
Implementing gaming/VR/psychoactive substances/meditation and other techniques to bring "square" (eg. left brain oriented) people into more enhanced creative moods.
