Manage Your Program

Students have six years in which to complete a graduate degree program. Coursework at least eight years old cannot be applied toward a degree unless approved by the graduate program director and the Graduate Council.

Your Catalog of Record

You catalog of record is the document of authority on all policies and procedures that apply to your graduate work at NKU. The catalog of record is the one in effect during the semester in which you are admitted into a graduate program. The policies and procedures published in this catalog apply during your academic career. You may request that your catalog of record be moved forward, but never backward. This might only be an advantage if requirements for degree completion change.

If a student’s progress toward a degree is interrupted for four or more academic years, all curricular requirements (the rules and regulations), both institutional and programmatic, published in the catalog in effect upon re-entry to the university must be followed.

If a student is admitted to one degree program and subsequently applies to a different degree program, the catalog of record will be the one in effect for exceptions when the student enrolled in the new program.

See information about progression to degree in the 2020-2021 graduate catalog.
