Graduation

Official information about graduation can be found in the Graduate Catalog and through the Graduate Education office.

Submit an Application for Graduate Degree Candidacy. All graduate degree and certificate students must complete an Application for Graduation with the Office of the University Registrar. Students must complete the form via myNKU under the Student Self-Service Tab, Academics, Apply for Graduation. You should apply for graduation the semester before you plan the graduate. Apply in the spring (April) for a summer or fall graduation; apply in the fall (October) for a spring graduation. There is a fee associated with the graduation application.

It is very important to work with the program director to be sure you will have met all graduation requirements before you plan to graduate. Your graduation requirements are those listed in your catalog of record, which is the catalog for the year you entered NKU as a degree-seeking students. Your advisor will help you design a course schedule for your senior year that guarantees you meet all requirements. Look for emails from the Registrar's Office. That is the office that will ultimately approve your request to graduate. The Graduate Education Office will also be sending you important notifications.

At some point near the middle of the semester you intend to gradate, the graduate director will submit a certification form.
