Specialist Section of the Nebraska Cooperative

Extension Association

The Specialist Section of the Nebraska Cooperative Extension Association (NCEA) is a professional development section that provides opportunities for members to improve their skills as Extension Specialists. The Specialist Section recognizes the achievements of members, encourages research and communication, and participates in setting future directions for Cooperative Extension in Nebraska.

Purpose

• Identify and address needs and issues that affect Specialists, Educators and Managerial-Professional Staff of the University of Nebraska Cooperative Extension.
• Serve as a channel of communication for Section members with the University of Nebraska Cooperative Extension administration and the NCEA Board of Directors.
• Promote professional development and communication among Specialist Section members.
• Recognize Specialist Section members for exemplary service to the University of Nebraska Cooperative Extension, NCEA, and the people of Nebraska.

Membership

Membership is open to all Extension Specialists, Extension Educators, and Managerial-Professional Staff Personnel receiving a salary from the University of Nebraska Cooperative Extension, provided they are members of NCEA.

Join the Specialist Section

Joining the Specialist Section is as easy as 1-2-3. It is possible to join the NCEA Specialist Section any time of the year, and all inquiries and membership registrations are welcome. Please contact the Section President, or any current member to obtain a membership registration form. Another possibility is to make plans to attend the annual conference (usually held in November), and register for the conference. You can use the NCEA web page to register for the conference. Your registration will include the basic NCEA membership. Then all you need to do is check the box that you want to join the Specialist Section, and add the appropriate dues to your conference registration. Once registered, all you need to do is join your colleagues at the conference and get involved in NCEA.
